My dad was in the 739th Field Artillery, XIX Corps during WW2. I am trying to find information about the 739th. My dad landed at Normandy 3 days after the invasion and at that time, I believe his outfit was attached to the 1st Army. He was on an 8" howitzer gun crew and went through Northern France, Belgium (Battle Of The Bulge), Holland, Germany. Towards the end of the war, the XIX Corps was attached to the 9th Army. My Dad's name was George Reuel Riddle and he passed away in August, 1968. Any information about the 739th F.A. Btn, Btry B, XIX Corps would be greatly appreciated. I live in Springdale, Arkansas and my street address is 704 Lawndale Drive and the Zip is 72764.
