I have just co-authored a book about the 738th Field Artillery Battalion, and have access to old rosters of names of men who served in the battalion. We don't have any record of anyone named Dolan, although we do know that the rosters are not necessarily complete. Also, since the battalion was a heavy artillery battalion, there were no tanks associated with the outfit. Perhaps
he fought with another outfit with a similar name/number. I wish you the best of luck in finding information about your uncle!
