My father was a member of the 208th during training in the US prior to going into the hospital shortly before the unit shipped out.
Stories of training and the men in the unit were so much a part of my childhood that I spent many years wondering if they were standing outside my door.
Unfortunately, you see, after Dad went into the hospital, and I was born, his brother died over Belgium, and his brother-in-law died in France. They say that much of Dad dies that year too. It's taken me too long, but now I'd like to know if there is anyone out there who remember's him from 'before' who could tell me about him or that time in his life.
